New Delhi [India], June 26 (ANI): Stressing that the Punjab government is fighting the drug problem at its roots, Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday that the AAP government is making every effort to protect the youth and their future.
In a post on X, on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Kejriwal said, 'Today is the International Day Against Drug Abuse. In Punjab, the AAP government is not just talking - we are taking strong action to make the state drug-free. We're fighting the problem at its root to protect our youth and their future. Let's salute every honest officer, volunteer, and citizen who stands with us in this real battle.'
Earlier today, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann emphasised that their war against drugs has now transformed into a mass movement.
'The campaign we launched from Punjab to eradicate drugs, 'War Against Drugs', has now transformed into a mass movement. Those who ruin families and use the ill-got gains of this sin to build palaces and host lavish parties will not be spared,' CM Mann said while speaking to the media.
'We have improved law and order in Punjab and provided people with a safe environment. By taking the strictest action against drug traffickers, we have forced them to flee Punjab,' he said.
Further, the Punjab CM asserted that those who have entrenched drugs in Punjab and are destroying the youth of the state will not be spared under any circumstances.
'No matter how influential they may be. Very soon, this mafia will be completely wiped out from Punjab. The responsibility the people of Punjab entrusted to us, we are fulfilling it with true intent and utmost honesty. We are fully committed to uprooting the drug menace from Punjab,' CM Bhagwant Mann said.
Slamming the opposition in the state, CM Mann said, 'The love of the opposition parties for drug traffickers has now become evident to all. As soon as we started catching the big fish, the opposition began speaking in their favour and defending them.' (ANI)
