Kalaburagi (Karnataka) [India], April 28 (ANI): Chairman of the Karnataka State Board of Auqaf, Hafiz Syed Muhammad Ali al-Hussaini, strongly condemned the April 22 terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, stating that such acts are not connected to Islam.
Speaking to ANI on Sunday, Hafiz said that such infiltration in India should not be tolerated, noting that the terrorists responsible for the attack are anti-Islamic.
'The terrorist attack that happened in Kashmir, I strongly condemn it. This should not happen; we won't tolerate such an infiltration in India... such terrorist attacks have nothing to do with Islam; these people are anti-Islamic. Because Islam is about peace, and in fact, all religions give a message of peace,' he said.
'Terrorism has no place in any religion,' he further added.
The statement comes amid national condemnation and outrage over the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people, including 25 Indians and one from Nepal.
The attack is one of the deadliest attacks in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed.
Following the Pahalgam terror attack, India has taken strong measures against Pakistan for its support of cross-border terrorism.
The government has said that terrorists responsible for a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam and conspirators will face severe punishment.
Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his monthly radio programme, assured the affected families that the perpetrators and conspirators of this attack will be served with the 'harshest' response.
While addressing the 121st episode of Mann ki Baat, PM Modi stated, 'The whole world stands with 140 crore Indians in our fight against terrorism. I once again assure the affected families that they will get justice, and justice will be done. The perpetrators and conspirators of this attack will be served with the harshest response.'
Prime Minister remarked that the Pahalgam terror attack occurred at a time when peace and prosperity were returning to Kashmir and that the terrorists and masterminds of terror wanted Kashmir to be destroyed again. (ANI)
