New Delhi [India], April 1 (ANI): Amid the ongoing row on Waqf (Amendment) Bill, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of politics of appeasement, saying that their every decision is for votes.
Yadav said that BJP has taken every decision to make their people happy and reiterated SP's strong opposition of the bill.
'Every decision of BJP is for votes and to make their people happy. Samajwadi Party is against the Waqf Bill. They (BJP) want complete control,' Yadav said.
Yadav further added that Waqf amendment bill is being introduced by the BJP to 'fix' their vote bank which he implied is not happy because of lack of employment and other aspects.
'Whether it is GST, demonetization or other decisions, they (BJP) work to snatch something or the other from the people. Through Waqf they want to give a message to fix their vote bank because they didn't give employment, farmer income didn't double so their voter is also not happy from them,' Yadav said
Yadav further questioned BJP's decision to distribute kits on Eid, 'They used to say that we (opposition) are doing politics of appeasement, are they (BJP) not doing appeasement by distributing kits on Eid? Till now, they have been misleading Hindus and now they have started misleading Muslims also,' Yadav said.
BJP Minority Morcha launched 'Saugat-e-Modi' campaign to distribute special kits to 32 lakh underprivileged Muslims across the on Eid.
The initiative was kicked off from Nizamuddin in Delhi under the guidance of BJP National President JP Nadda and seeks to ensure that poor Muslim families can celebrate the festival without any hardship.
As part of the campaign, 32,000 minority morcha workers collaborated with 32,000 mosques nationwide to reach the needy.
Jamal Siddiqui, the National President of the BJP Minority Morcha, outlined the campaign's broader vision, stating that on occasions like Eid, Good Friday, Easter, Nauruz, and the Indian New Year, the Minority Front will reach out to those in need through the 'Saugat-e-Modi' campaign. (ANI)
