Simon Edvinsson scored a pair of goals, including the go-ahead goal with 8:25 remaining, to lift the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-2 win over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night in Saint Paul, Minn.
Vladimir Tarasenko also scored for Detroit, which won its second game in a row. The Red Wings avenged a 4-3 overtime loss against the Wild over the weekend.
Marco Rossi and Jakub Lauko scored one goal apiece for Minnesota.
Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot turned aside 22 of 24 shots to defeat his former team.
Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson surrendered three goals on 16 shots.
Edvinsson scored the decisive goal on a slap shot from the top of the left circle. Gustavsson struggled to see the shot through traffic in front of him, and the shot zipped past his glove side.
The sequence gave Edvinsson the first multiple-goal game of his career. The 22-year-old defenseman from Sweden has played 79 career games since Detroit drafted him in the first round at No. 6 overall in 2021.
The Wild grabbed a 1-0 lead on the power play with 12:43 remaining in the first period. Rossi parked in front of the crease and punched in a rebound off a shot from Matt Boldy.
Less than four minutes later, Minnesota struck again to seize a 2-0 advantage. Devin Shore stormed toward the net and slipped a pass to Lauko, who sneaked a shot beneath Talbot for the goal.
It marked the third goal of the season and the first since Oct. 29 for Lauko, who played his first game in three weeks after being sidelined because of a lower-body injury.
Detroit cut the deficit to 2-1 with 9:48 remaining in the second period. Erik Gustafsson snapped a pass toward the right side of the crease for Tarasenko, who buried a snap shot from a sharp angle.
The Red Wings evened the score at 2-all only three minutes later. Alex DeBrincat slipped a pass to Edvinsson, who raised his stick and blasted a one-timer past Gustavsson's glove side.
